I just posted a post and I need some answers...
When is it okay to give your blog addy to a potential boyfriend in the dating process?

Fri, September 15, 2006 - 8:38 AMI found it best to tell your date almost immediately. That way they can make a decision to be ok with it or not right up front. Thats just me though. I never wanted to have to explain it after the fact, remove certain things I wrote, etc.

Nothing to do with the honesty issue, it really comes down whether you want to share everything that floats through you mind( Your emotions, fantacy, crazy dreams,etc). Mostly, we all prefer to have a personal space where we can do whatever we like( with the constraint, of course) If your blog is the personal one, it may not be wise to tell your boyfriends or potential ones because you do not want them to be Mr. Know -you-all. Otherwise, you may not need to share everything with them because they know most of them already through your personal blog.
On the other hand, if you have a discussion blog, you can tell them anytime you want because it is open for discussion, right?

Thu, October 5, 2006 - 1:30 PMWhat a great question. I'm only blogging since June of this year and even though my blog is a general popular culture blog there is a lot of personal stuff on it too. I try to write about previous partners in a general way but you always wonder what would they think if they saw themselves in it. I think if you like the person and value their opinion tell them but to be aware of a reaction good, bad or indifferent.

Sun, November 19, 2006 - 12:01 PMOK.... So, I'm the guy who started this thread... And, so, I thought I'd update this post for you guys with my own personal saga...
The guy had asked to read my blog... After another week or two, I finally gave him the URL...
After another couple of week's he hadn't even read it yet... A week or two after that he stopped answering all calls and emails... Ha!
Was this because of the blog or is it because...??? I dunno...
But, I was glad I gave him the URL. And it reminds me of a great <b>Marianne Williamson</b> quote: "If the train doesn't stop at your station, it's not your train."
So, my lesson from all of this?: Let 'em read the blog right away (or after a few dates) and if I'm not for them, let them move on through to make room for the next train...

Tue, November 28, 2006 - 1:44 PMi tell them the url if they're interested in knowing it. it's not something i advertise, so if it comes out that i have a blog during a conversation, and he wants to know it, i'll tell him.
also, just because ppl know the url, it doesn't mean that they read it. case in point, my bf knows the url, but decided that he doesn't want to read my blog. silly, i know, but i love him :)

Thu, November 30, 2006 - 6:06 PMI think it is entirely up to you. You can either tell him when you just start date each other or wait when your relationship is more stable. There is no right or wrong answer of this but just your personal perference. You can even choose not to reveal this, it is ok, too.
